It was an enjoyable evening at the Telstra dome as the nations and AFL dignitaries gathered to honour the players from the 2005 International Cup. Many of the nations displayed their fine singing voices, watched the video highlights from the games in the tournament and heartily congratulated the award winners and selectees.
Paul Loughnane from the Mississauga Demonswas name Best Player by the team and was awarded a guenrsey sign by all the players on our host club the Sydney Swans. The International select team saw Canada do better with two players. Rob McElwain from the Windsor Mariners and Paul Loughnane. Well done boys!

Congratulations Rob and Paul! You're both a credit to the Northwind jersey and an example to other players.
For those who don't know, Rob and four of his Windsor teammates commuted to Toronto on weekends last winter to attend the Northwind training camp -- a 3-1/2 hour drive each way. That dedication has been deservedly rewarded. Well done!
Yeah, hell of a job Mac.
The drives weren't so bad, training was fun too. Just wish we all made the team.

On behalf of us Northerners, a huge Congratulations go to Paul Loughnane and Rob McEwan for being selected as Best Player and for being recognized for your performance in the 2005 Australian Football International Cup! Also Congratulations goes out to all of the team, a job well done in your last game against South Africa, I'm so very proud of all of you!

All honesty you Canadian are without a doubt a higlight of my time at the Australian Football International Cup 2005. Thank you for the very special memories and hope to see you all again in 2008..your guys left me with one special phrase...EH OOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
