Humber Ground Irrigation

Players from the Ontario Australian Football League got together on Saturday to join forces with the City of Toronto Parks workers to put in an irrigation system at Humber College Park. The project was one of a long list of improvements to the field that the City has delivered on in the past two years. Through the use of the league's manpower, the majority of the 90 sprinkler heads were able to be installed before the ground froze.

The league had been lobbying the city to put in the irrigation system since the move to Humber College three seasons ago. The city's tight budget had previously prohibitted them from allocating the manpower to do the job. The OAFL provided the extra manpower to finish the trenching and backfilling to help complete the project. There is much anticipation for the possibility of a soft, green field through the hot and dry Toronto summer next year.
