AFL Canada achieves RCAAA Status

May 22, 2023

AFL Canada is pleased to announce that after a lengthy application and verification process, that the organization has been approved as a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletics Association (RCAAA).

The process and registration further affirms AFL Canada’s dedication to the amateur sporting landscape in Canada, as well as the continued growth and capacity of Australian Football in Canada.

The confirmation allows AFL Canada to gain qualified donee status which allows AFL Canada, as well as its members, to become eligible for a whole host of funding opportunities, previously unavailable. For example, funding will now be available from the Jumpstart Foundation which has recently offered up $12 million in funding for returning to junior sport.

On top of this, AFL Canada can now provide receipts for donations or gifts received by corporations and individuals, furthering the potential capacity of the organization.

AFL Canada looks forward to building on the already established & strong base of Australian Football here in Canada as we return stronger than ever from the Covid 19 pandemic.
