AFLW 2022 Season Preview

May 22, 2023

Footy is back in 2022 with the commencement of the AFLW season this weekend! The first game kicks off early Friday morning with St Kilda taking on Richmond.

Select games from the season will be shown on TSN’s national television feeds for the first time in the history of the competition, following the success of AFLW games being available to live stream on TSN.ca or the TSN app in 2021.

TSN has broadcast Australian Football content in Canada since the launch of the network in 1984. 2022 is a particularly exciting as well as historic year as the men’s season will directly follow the women’s – This means 10 months straight of professional Australian Football being broadcast into Canada on TSN!

The AFLW is embarking upon its biggest and best season to date, since the establishment of the league in 2017. The 2022 season sees an extended regular season consisting of 10 matches as well as the introduction of new teams, taking the total number up to 14 teams.
