Event Spotlight – The Pony Platter

It’s less than a month until the 2023 Pony Platter and AFL Canada is proud to be supporting this long-standing event as part of the Event Hosting Grant.

What is the Pony Platter?

The Pony Platter has been the traditional pre-season kick-off tournament since 2012, hosted by the Ottawa Swans. AFL Quebec’s representative team, the Quebec Saints, make the trip to Ottawa each year for the clash.

For the first time last year, and returning again in 2023 the AFL Nova Scotia representative team, the Nova Scotia Lions are traveling across for the fixture. The Nova Scotia Lions team is selected by representatives from both the Halifax Dockers and Syndey Giants.

Where is the Pony Platter?

The Pony Platter is held at the home ground of the Ottawa Swans – Manotick Polo Ground

  • 1600 Bankfield Rd, Manotick, Ontario.

When is the Pony Platter?

The Pony Platter is an all-day event with multiple games of men’s and women’s footy across the day, on Saturday, May 6th, 2023.

How do I get involved?

Fans are always welcome and entry is free for a great day of Footy or if you’re looking to play, reach out to development@aflcanada.com and we’ll point you in the right direction.
