After a successful pilot project in Ottawa, the Northern Lights youth mentor project is expanding to multiple cities across Canada.
The Ottawa Swans, in partnership with AFL Canada have run a six week introduction to Football project with girls aged 10-15 years old in Ottawa across the winter of 2022.
Not only does the project teach the girls a new sport, but multiple webinars with amazing guest speakers have given the girls key knowledge and practical takeaways to help with things such as stress, sleep, and other relevant topics to that age group.
Based on the success of the Ottawa project, and in partnership with EMM Consulting, AFL Canada is proud to announce that the project is expanding to Halifax, Hamilton and Calgary.
Starting in the Spring the Calgary Kookaburras, Hamilton Wildcats and Halifax Dockers will all be running their own projects!
For more information and to register your participants if you’re located in one of those cities, you can head to the Project Page.
